Today layout

Hello friends!  Today, I’ve got my DT choice layout to share with you.

This summer, my family and I visited an under ground cave, and we had our photo taken by the tour guide.  Being a scrapbooker, I bought the over-priced, low quality photo.  I’m glad I bought the photo though, because the caves were dark, and flash photography wasn’t allowed, so I don’t have any other good pictures.  Here’s my little nugget of wisdom for you: buy the photo!  LOL!  They are the best souvenirs, in my opinion.

On to the layout:

To make my layout, I used the October The Weekender kit.  I matted my photo with a few layers of pattern paper, then adhered it the the middle of my 12×12 white cardstock.  I also added a piece of pattern paper that I cut into a triangle, creating a large photo corner.  I added 2 big strips of patterned paper, cut on a slight angle, to the top and bottom of my cardstock.  I added some machine stitching, and roughed up the edges a bit for some texture.  Then, I added the today title, and embellished around my photo.  I added gold ink splatters, sequins, and hand drawn lines and stars to create an artsy sketchy vibe to my layout.

I love the way my layout turned out.  I like how all the embellishments compliment and highlight the photo.  I hope you were inspired to get scrappy!

Have an awesome day.

Play Time!

This weekend I finally had time to pull out my January Kit and play!

Here is what I came up with:

Hope you are having fun with your January kit!
