Designer’s Choice: photographing the details

Hello! It’s Jennifer Larson, sharing some ideas for creating a layout about a topic that is hard to photograph.

Recently we celebrated my son’s birthday at Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America. Taking pictures of them on their favorite rides was impossible, so instead I took pictures of the signs. Here’s the page:

Hello Fun by Jennifer Larson

I found that printing the photos 2.5-inches square let me fit all the signs on the page. I stitched in between the grid and added clusters of colorful embellishments around the page for fun. Finally, I added next to the title a photo of my boys waiting in line to get them on the page too.

If you are creating a page about something that is hard to photograph–a sporting event, a play, an amusement park ride, for example–take photos of the details instead and put the action in your journaling.

If this gives you ideas for a page, please share your page with us at the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page so we can check it out!

The kit that keeps on giving!

Yes, I am still working with the June kit, Amusement Park! It’s such a fun and colourful kit, perfect for summer photos like the one used here. were you lucky enough to get your hands on this kit before it sold out?!

The papers (except the grid paper), the chipboard numbers and the green edge are from the kit. The rest is from my personal stash.

I wanted to show you a close-up of my layout. I added some Diamond Glaze to the “bubbles”, I tought it worked great with a pic of my daughter in the pool!

Enjoy your day!
