Made with Love scrapbook layout

Hello friends!

Today, I’m sharing a scrapbook layout I created with the February So This Happened Kit and the add-on Record It.

I made a layout about the baby quilt I made for my baby girl.  I have made special quilts for all three of my girls, and it is one of my favorite traditions.

When I thought about putting this layout together, I knew I wanted to make the background mimic the quilt I made.  I first thought about using different pattern papers that matched my quilt, but with all the different patterns and colors, it looked a little busy.  I also really loved the Fancy Pants Joy Parade paper.  The pink matches the color in the quilt, and one of the fabric patterns has + on it just like the pattern paper.  Win win.  I cut up the Fancy Pants paper, and adhered it to a navy blue striped pattern paper (from an older kit).  Then I machine stitched in diagonals across the squares, just like I did for my quilt.  I mounted my photos on a piece of aqua paper from the Dear Lizzy Lovely Day 6×6 paper pad, and adhered it to the layout.  I added the title using one of my all time favorite alphas: Pinkfresh Studio letters (included in the November add-on), and the love from the American Crafts Darling Hazelwood thickers.  Then I added the enamel triangles and phrase stickers to finish off my layout.

I hope you like my layout, and are inspired to create.  Thanks for stopping by!

Be Real: Instagram Photo Album

Hi Scrapbook Circle fans!  I’m trying something a little different for this month’s Be Real post.  Each month a couple of creative team members are assigned to use Instagram photos on a layout or a pocket scrapbooking page.  I decided to change it up this month by creating a Be Real instagram photo album instead.

I loved the papers and embellishments that were included in the May Here & Now kit and coordinating add-ons.  I started off my insta album by cutting up the corrugated white cardstock included in the main kit.  It is thick and versatile, so I decided that it would make a great surface for my pages.  First, I used a paper trimmer and trimmed white corrugate pieces into 7 5″x 5″ square pieces.  I purchased a patterned paper add-on this month, in order to create this album you would need to have extra corrugated paper on hand or you could cut your pages to 4″x 4″ each and one sheet should do the trick.

After cutting up my corrugated background pages, I then cut up pieces of patterned papers from the main kit and May add-on kits measuring 5″ x 5″ each.  I then placed each cut patterned paper on each corrugated piece.  Once I got all of my papers placed, I used my crop a dile to punch through each page, and then adjoined them all using a jump ring.

Next, I printed off a couple of Instagram photos and a couple of small wallet sized photos.

Once the photos were in place I used a lot of embellishments, Thickers, thread, spray ink, lace netting and a couple of other items to finish each page.

My last page of the album is my “favorites” page. I used a tag (included in the main kit) to journal a few things about our special day.

Overall, I’m so happy with how this “Be Real” mini album turned out!

Tech Tip: Fringe Heart

Hi everyone, Gina here today to share a new tech tip with you!  Inspired by the Crate paper fringe hearts in the Stay Cool add-on kit this month, I decided to create my own fringe heart using the beautiful patterned papers from the One Fine Day kit.  To create my fringe heart, I first opened Silhouette Studio and downloaded a file from their store called 4 Seamless Fringe Borders by Lori Whitlock.  Next, I chose my favorite fringe design from the set and placed it on my design page.

Next, I chose different papers from the kit and cut them out one by one.  If you don’t have a die cut machine, you can create your own fringe pieces by using fringe scissors, a paper trimmer or regular scissors. Note: the corrugated paper included in the kit was too thick to put through my machine, so I hand cut that one myself.

Next, open up your favorite heart design or shape of your choice, resize it to your liking.

Cut out your design on a scrap piece of cardstock paper.  Carefully layer your fringe paper strips one by one until your cut out shape is filled and adhere down.  Use scissors to cut off excess pieces.

Next, use a sewing machine to stitch any loose fringe layers down and adhere to your layout.  Embellish with your favorite stickers and pieces. I loved the colorful papers and “Live Colorfully” die cut word so much that I decided to paint my background paper with watercolors.

March’s Telephone Game Challenge

Hello! It’s Gina Lideros and I’m here to share the third installment of the Telephone Game Challenge. It was described last month by Jennifer Larson.  Just like the telephone game we played as children, we are taking the whispered “telephone call”– inspiration from the previous month’s layout–and passing the message we heard on to the next in creative team member line. Here’s Jennifer’s page from last month:

I was inspired by the white background, circular patterns and stitched elements.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut circles out of patterned paper from the Oh Happy Day kit and Beautiful Day Add-on and Good Vibes Add-on.  I sprinkled my die cut circles around my page and used a sewing machine to stitch some of them down.  I added embellishments from all three kits.  I really loved the cute little pennant flag from Basic Grey, so I used it as part of my title.

Thank you for visiting with us today! Next month come back to see what the next in line for the telephone challenge, has made! Please feel free to share your creations with us on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook Page!

Mood Board Inspired by Gina Lideros

Hi everyone, Gina here today to share my take on the February Mood Board with you.12541016_10207487533481542_4354886348085089036_n

There are so many things to love about the mood board this month, I was inspired by colors, black and white striped, silver design, gold and patterned pieced heart.

For my challenge this month I used the main February Only You kit paired with the Date Night add-on.

Me + You

I used a cut file along with my Silhouette Cameo machine to cut several patterned papers from the main kit.  I placed them on a gray cardstock background and added splashes of paint, photo and embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you have created a recent project with one of our kits we would love for you to share it with us on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page.

December Mood Board

Hi there,

Gina here today to share how I used the December Mood board along with the Tell Your Story kit and The Documenter add-on  and Memory Keeper add-on to create my page.

I loved the arrows, the fun bold colors and the different fonts that were present in this month’s mood board.  I decided to use the December digital cuts to create my title for my page.  I found the title “Find Your Tribe, Love Them Hard” on social media a few months back and fell in love with it.  I knew that I wanted to use it as my title.  I cut each letter individually from different papers that were included in the main Tell Your Story kit.  Inspired by the bold colors in this month’s mood board, I chose to use a variety of colors and patterns on my page.

Gina Lideros Find Your Tribe SBC

I also loved the arrows in the mood board photo.  I chose several arrows from the main kit and add-on kits and added them to my page.  I even cut one out of my background before I put my page together using my Silhouette Cameo.  I added a black and white photo and a few stickers to finish off my page.  The combination of the black and white photo and black and white background paper along with all of the colorful letters and arrows make me smile.

Design Team Choice: Hello Moon

Hi there!  I have another new layout to share with you today using the the October Mix Tape kit and Add-ons.

Gina Lideros Hello Moon

September 27th, was a memorable night.  We experienced a blood moon and solar eclipse.  I took my trusty Canon 6D out for a walk and decided to shoot the moon.  I chose my favorite photo from the shoot and decided to document it on my layout using the Mix Tape kit and add-ons.

I love using geometric shapes on layouts.  To create the background for this layout I trimmed several pieces of the patterned papers included in the main kit into squares and rectangle shapes and then adhered them to a white cardstock background.  I used my sewing machine to stitch down a few of pieces.  Then I added in extra embellishments from both of the add-on kits.

Have you created a layout with our October kit?   If so, we would love for you to share it with us on our Facebook page!

DT Choice | Universal Selfie

Hi there!  This is Jenni sharing one of “my choice” pages using the April ‘Let’s Do This’ kit and a few pieces of the ‘Love It’ Add-on.

ALL ABOARD!_SBC_April 2015 border

Sifting through the embellishments this month, I immediately pulled this Amy Tangerine die cut to scrap one of a million photos from our recent trip to Universal Studios.  This was a family selfie taken on the Dr. Seuss train.  It was such a bright and cheerful atmosphere, it needed a fun and free background.  I started with some puddles and watercolor splatters and splotches.

ALL ABOARD!_SBC_April 2015 (5)

I used lots of mint accents with paper, stickers and die cuts to provide a bright contrast to the yellow and orange.  I tucked some hidden journaling into the gold polka dot baggie and layered die cuts in and around it.  I used these tiny acetate triangles, alternating with rub-ons from My Mind’s Eye to loop from the title to the paper airplane die cut.

This was a quick, loose layout that was fun to create and captures the laid back feel of that day.  Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have an amazing day!

Designer’s Choice | & then this happened…

Hi!  Happy Saturday everyone!  I am sharing one of my layout using the April “Let’s Do This” kit and “Love This” add-on.  I wanted to scrap this giggling fit my daughter had one afternoon trying to do homework.  I thought the photos told a better story in black and white and it allowed me to pair them with lots of bright patterns.

& then this happened_SBC_April 20015 border

I love that triangle pattern from Crate Paper but didn’t want to overpower the page, especially since I knew there would be 4 photos and journaling.  This die cut from Amy Tangerine with the sketchy yellow, pink and teal border inspired so much of the layout.

& then this happened_SBC_April 20015 (6)

I matted my photos onto white cardstock and mimicked that frame using the same color and pattern.  Using a white gel pen I drew the scallops directly onto the black cardstock.

& then this happened_SBC_April 20015 (9)

I made a little cluster next to my journaling using embellishments from several companies including this adorable arrow paperclip from Webster’s Pages.  I think the pops of yellow turned out so nice against the black and pink.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Remember to share your layouts with us on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook Page and participate in the new challenges!!  Have an amazing weekend!

Take Two: Hello Happy Zone

Hello, it’s Gina here today to share my Take Two assignment with you using the fabulous March Here’s The Story kit.  This month I was inspired by an older layout of mine.

Gina Lideros Hello happy zone SBC March Kit

I have a thing for diamond shapes on my layouts.  Below is my older layout that I created with the December kit.  I created a similar pattern on my new layout using triangles pieced together, to create diamond shapes.  Both pages have the same title “hello”, splashes of black ink, a diamond shaped photo and lots of fun embellishments.

Here’s a closeup of my layout for you.  I used embellishments from the March Tell Me add-on and On My Way add-on kit.
