Stencils and Ink in Traveler’s Notebooks

I have been working through my Thirty of Days of Thankful album using the I am Thankful Scrapbook Circle collection. I love using the patterned paper from the kit, but I like to have a lighter less bold pattern for the opposing page.

So, I decided to use a basic stencil, some coordinating inks and an ink blending tool to create a coordinating facing page.

Since I only have one photo on the right hand page, I wouldn’t want o use a plain white page as the background, but using the bold pattern from the kit on both pages would be too overwhelming.

It only takes a few minutes to cover the page with a stencil and ink and is such an easy technique. I used Distress Oxide Ink and Dye ink and both look nice so you can use whatever type of ink you have on hand.

I also like how this formula creates consistency in my album.

After adding the bold patterned paper and the fun stenciled background, you only need a few embellishments like washi, chipboard and epoxy hearts from the kit and a bit of journaling to complete the layout.

Are you creating a November journal? We would love to see it on the Facebook page!

Thanks for stopping by!

🙂 Rebecca
