Gratitude Journal: A Recipe

Hey there!  Jenni here today to share the beginnings of my Gratitude Journal using the ‘Today I Am Thankful” Shipped Bundle as well as the Printable Bundle.  After looking at all the designs & graphics included, I decided to approach this journal almost like a December Daily Album.  I wrote out ideas of things I was thankful for, starting with everyday things, to the most important in my life.

I decided to make a journal page for each day leading up to Thanksgiving.  After making this decision, I prepared all the pieces in the kit I wanted to use, coming up with a “recipe” for each page in the journal.  I made a list of all the photos and topics I wanted to include.

After printing all the photos in a 2″x 2″ square, I used a stitched die to cut out pieces of the patterned paper.  I adore the rich navy, coral and ochre colors in this kit.  I decided to use one element from each of the included printable cut aparts; phrases & labels, a chipboard sticker, enamel heart stickers and some of the flowers I fussy cut.I used some small alpha stamps to add a title or subject to each page and some interest with washi or more printables.I tried to keep it simple, using one photo per page and not clutter it too much with embellishments. The complimentary colors and large scale graphics worked great with my photos.I love these paper clip layered embellishments from Paige Evans for Pink Paislee. I have planned out the entire journal and will be sharing it over the coming weeks.  I hope you enjoyed looking at the first few pages!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Check out the other team projects using this kit and come back for more ideas and info!
