It’s Friyay!  And that means, I get to introduce our Guest Designer for July…the talented Taheerah Atchia!  If you don’t know her work, be sure to check out her links below.  Today, Taheerah shares two cards she created using the July “Smile More” kit.  Read on!

Hi! I’m Taheerah. I’m a geek. And I like to make stuff.
I live in the UK with my wonderful cats, and I work in IT, building and testing software. I’m a scientist at heart (I have a degree in Astrophysics), but I’ve always also been creative. I like to balance all the technical, thinking work I do in my day job with doing something with my hands, which is where crafting comes in! I love combining designs/products in think-outside-the-box ways, as well as mixing it up with a varied style and capitalizing on the latest trends. I’d love it if you stopped by my blog and learned more about me! You can also find me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest!

I’m so thrilled to be guesting for Scrapbook Circle this month! Their kits are fabulous and I can’t wait to show it all off!

For my post today I had so much layering lots of different papers and elements from the kit! Isn’t this card so pretty?!

I started with that gorgeous Maggie Holmes paper from the kit. The floral pattern is so gorgeous! I covered my entire card front with it, then used some of the fun fringe tape to add some texture and to tone down some of the pattern beneath it.

I loved some of the more unusual items in the kit. This corrugated paper/cardstock gives such a tactile addition to the design. For some added interest I tore the strip to reveal the white core and break up the design a bit more.

After that, it was time to pile on the pretty! The Chipboard Thickers and watercolour heart stickers got some love from me, but my favourite little layer is that line of giant gold sequins. What a fun detail!
The little ticket embellishments, with their foiling, were a gorgeous finishing touch. I used the Alpha Stickers to complete my sentiment, then I was all done!
I can’t help but go back to stare at this card over and over! All the elements in the kit really worked so well together to bring the design to life!
This kit might be full of pretty items, but it took just two elements from it for me to create a great masculine card!
I used the gorgeous Pink Paislee paper from the kit to act as a gorgeous night sky! It works so well for this!

The acrylic stars were one of those items that I just wanted to hoard hoard hoard, but I made myself use up several of them to create this awesome constellation look! I adhered them in place then used a white gel pen to ‘join them up’ to finish my design!
How awesome are Taheerah’s projects??  I think this constellation card design is SO clever!  I am anxious to see what she shares with us next!  Check out other projects and info on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page.  Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing weekend!
