First Library Card – July DT Choice with Orange Gearle

Hi Orange Gearle here with a Designer’s Choice Layout using the July Smile More kit! In June, my daughter got her first library card. She was very excited — and this photo totally shows it!

I went with a black and white photo because there was a lot going on and tons of different colors and I thought the black, gray and white in the papers helped make the photo pop! I started by cutting the Pinkfresh Studio paper chevron/triangles out and added it to the black corrugated piece that came in the main kit. Then I added some black and white papers cut into triangles from the Pinkfresh Studio 6×6 pad that came in the embellishment add-on. I like how this added to the almost monochromatic look.  Then the acrylic stars and ‘hooray’ word for the win.

For the title I used letters from the Vicki Bouton stickers — painting them with water colors to match the aqua strip in the patterned paper.

I added a few more stickers from the sticker pack, but left them black and white.  I used some circles and some phrase stickers.

I really like how this turned out and it was super easy to put together because these kits are so amazing!  Thanks for stopping by!
