June Challenge: Large Scale Patterns

Hello! Have you been enjoying your June kit? I certainly have, and I’m excited to bring you a new challenge that might inspire you to use more of your gorgeous kit. Inspired by all the large-scale patterned papers, this month’s challenge is to create a layout with a large-scale background. Creative team member Diana created this beautiful page for your inspiration:

An easy way to use large-scale patterns is to choose patterns that are monochromatic. That’s exactly what Diana did with this green pattern.

Another great tip for using large-scale patterns is to offset them with a neutral pattern. The wood grain pattern that Diana used as her base helps to keep the large-scale pattern from seeming too busy.

Are you ready to play along? Here’s how:

1. Create a layout featuring a large-scale patterned paper background. Traditional or hybrid. This month’s Scrapbook Circle kit is perfect for this challenge, but any materials will do.

2. Post your project to your blog, an online gallery, or social media site (be sure to tag Scrapbook Circle!). Comment on this post with a direct link to your layout. You can also email your link to tessa@scrapbookcircle.com.

3. For an extra entry, post your layout to our Facebook Community, Scrapbook Circle of Friends.

4. Link us to your entry by Sunday, June 9th, 9:00 pm PST. The randomly-selected winner of a $20.00 gift certificate to Scrapbook Circle will be posted on Monday, July 10th.
