Tech Tip: a little farm MOO-SIC

Hello friends!  I’m here today with a tech tip post!

I absolutely love alphabet stickers!  Along with pattern paper, it is one of my favorite scrapbook products to get!  I especially love getting a good white alpha, because it’s so easy to alter!  I used the Webster’s Pages It’s a New Day alpha stickers that’s included in May’s Take Note kit, and I colored the letters to match my layout.  I used a couple of Copic markers to create an ombre pink title.  (I loved the ombre pink look on the Pink Paislee Paige Evans page 8 paper.)  I colored them directly on the sticker sheet.  When I stuck them on wax paper, I decided I wanted to deepen the color, so I just colored the letters again.  I like putting my stickers on wax paper, so I can “try them out” on my layout without sticking them down.  It would be easy to color the alphas with any variety of mediums…ink from stamp pads, spray mists, color pencils, paint, etc.  The Copic markers worked fantastically, though, since they are alcohol based and dry quickly, so as not to warp the stickers.

This is the layout of my daughter’s 1st grade music performance.  The theme was farm “moo-sic,” and all the kiddos were so cute!  I absolutely love grid layouts, and since I got my silhouette cameo, I cut some rounded squares on a white piece of cardstock.  Then I backed each square with pattern paper and photos with foam tape.  I love the slight dimension!  (I used a few products from the March Happy Place kit.  The blue badger pattern paper, the pink hearts paper, and the “Show Time” tag were perfect for this layout and are from that kit.)

That’s it!  I hope I’ve inspired you to create and alter some of your own alpha stickers!  Have a wonderful day!
