Take 2 – BE always blooming

Summer’s almost here friends!  Or in some places, it might already be here.  Today, I am sharing my layout for a Take 2 post, using the May “Take Note” kit.  I decided to reach way back and grab one of former design team member Neela’s pages for inspiration!  I thought it would be interesting to find something from a completely different season to take as inspiration!

Neela’s layout from the December 2016 kit “Everyday Stories” has a a single amazing photo, punched patterened paper snowflakes in a frame around the photo and her journaling around the outer edges.

Instead of punching shapes, I fussy cut lots of the flowers on the black & white patterned paper from Dear Lizzy.  I used watercolors to paint the flowers and leaves, keeping the color palette fairly subtle.

Following Neela’s page as a sketch for mine, I used 1 photo in the center and added my water colored flowers and leaves around all four sides of the photo.

I loved the way Neela wrote around the perimeter of the page, but instead decided to use it as a graphic cue and mount this piece of black and white polka dot paper behind the main layout.  I added my title using these black script font Thickers and some more die cuts and stickers.

Thank for stopping by the Blog today!  I hope this has motivated you to take a 2nd look at one of your own layouts or inspiration from another designer!  Share your creations and find more info at the Scrapbook Circle of Friends Facebook community page.

Have an amazing week!
