Pearl Earrings, DT choice

Hey guys!  I’m here today with a DT choice layout using the May Take Note kit!

We got my baby girl’s ears pierced recently, and I wanted to document this milestone.  We got her sisters’ ears pierced when they were 4 1/2 months old, and we wanted to do the same for baby girl.  She looks so sweet with her little pearl earrings!

I wanted to draw the eye directly to the photo, so I added lots of layers, and left the rest of the layout somewhat soft.  I cut down some pattern papers from the kit, and layered them under the photo.  I fussy cut those flowers from the Webster’s Pages pattern paper, and added them under and over the photo as well.  For the background behind the photo, I used a cut file and my silhouette to cut the circles/hearts from white cardstock.  I backed the hearts with the Paige Evans 08 paper, and added some hand stitching.  I wanted a subtle background, so I adhered the cut file on the soft pink watercolor patten paper from Heidi Swapp.  Then, I cut it down so it would cover 2/3 of the layout. I adhered my layered photo cluster, and added my title using the Pinkfresh Studio stickers from my April Our Story kit.

On the left 1/3 of the layout, I added my journaling, which I typed on the computer on white cardstock.  I also used the light aqua letters to spell out her name.  I framed and backed my layout with the Dear Lizzy pattern paper, and stitched everything down for added interest and texture.  To finish off my layout, I added some gold splatters, and a few tiny pearls that I had in my stash.

I hope you were inspired by my layout today, and I hope my baby’s picture made you smile!
