Gimmie Some Knucks

Hi everyone! Have you seen the May Printables? They are lovely watercolor-y and right up my alley! I was able to use a few of them in different ways for this layout about my daughter being silly with a sculpture of knuckles! She is so silly and fun and that’s what this story is all about.

First of all, I used two of the printable cards behind my photo (one on either side) like pattern paper layers. I use the “I love you because…” card on one side, and the other side is the blank card of the same color. I love the ombre effect of these cards! I also used the corner of one of the cards up in the upper left part of my layout for a little more of that lovely color.

I cut the title (freehand) out of some scraps of the Dear Lizzy paper, and had enough left for the bottom third of my layout (I had already used some of it for other projects)! Then I poked holes around the letters and stitched with some embroidery floss to help it stand out and add some texture.

I used the printable as inspiration for my journaling as well. I used the “I love you because…” phrase as a starting point for my journaling about some of the things that I love about my daughter, especially on this day.

All of my papers and alphas are from the May Main Kit – Take Note. I also used some Illustrated Faith Tabbies and Pink Fresh Die Cuts from the May Add-on This is Magic. The black stars are from April’s Main Kit – Our Story.

I went ahead and let the video run while I made this layout. So if it suits your fancy, you can click here to see my process.

Thanks for stopping by!
