Short and Sweet
Hello Scrapbook Circle friends! Today I have a layout that was created in less than an hour. Yes, you read that correctly, less than an hour! For this month’s tech tip I wanted to share how I created a quick layout with only a few elements that still has a bit of pizzazz.
My husband has been restoring a 1956 Chevy for several years and we were able to take it for a short ride one evening when the weather was nice. While we were headed down the road, I took a quick picture that includes the dashboard and the road ahead.
At first glance, the layout seems to use several layers of patterned papers that have been sewn together. However, there are only a few small pieces!
To achieve this effect, I cut the Shimelle patterned paper down to 8 1/2 x 11 and stitched the border between each change in pattern/color. Next, I cut a piece of Crate Paper Patterned paper along with the Pretty Little Studio papers and tacked them in place with photo squares.
Next, I used the Pink Paislee floral die cuts and placed them between layers of paper before doing the final bit of stitching. I love how they peek out from behind!
My picture was next and that was placed on top of the sewn layers with a few embellishments on and around it.
For the journaling, I kept it simple with a couple of strips of typed text that I created in Word and printed. Last was the title using those wonderful Pinkfresh Studio metallic puffy letter stickers. I also added a few of the metallic sentiments towards the bottom of the layout to create a visual triangle from top to bottom.
The finished layout has quite a bit of detail despite only taking a short time to create.
