April Challenge – Using Metallics
The gorgeous April kit features just enough sparkle to really catch your eye, which inspired the April challenge:
Use metallics on a layout. Our creative team member Neela created this page for your inspiration:
This kit is filled with metallics in gold and copper. I decided to use some of the gold elements in this kit for this layout.
“I love the words in the Heidi Swapp pack. I wanted to use one of the words as the title for my layout. ‘Authentic’ seemed perfect for this photo and the story I wanted to tell. I then used the 3×4 cards with gold elements from Pretty Little Studio to form a grid along with the photo. I also used more gold words from the Heidi Swapp word pack. And how awesome are those gold mirror stickers from Pink Fresh Studio.”
“I added the hearts in a visual triangle. I then wrote my journaling in the bottom. After all the gold, I wanted to add more color to the layout. With the background, fussy cut feathers from Shimelle’s little by little patterned paper and the bits and pieces from the Paige Evan’s Oh My Heart ephemera pack, I got the needed color and patterns to complete the layout.”
“Hope you will enjoy using the metallics from the Main kit and add ons this month.”
Ready to play along? Here’s how:
1. Create a project (cards, layout, mini album, pocket page, etc.) featuring at least one metallic. Traditional or hybrid. This month’s Scrapbook Circle kit is perfect for this challenge, but any materials will do.
2. Post your project to your blog, an online gallery, or social media site (be sure to tag Scrapbook Circle!). Comment on this post with a direct link to your layout.
3. For an extra entry, post your layout to our Facebook Community, Scrapbook Circle of Friends. Find the photo album titled “April Challenge – Metallics” and add your project.
4. Link us to your entry by Sunday, May 8th, 9:00 pm PST. The randomly-selected winner of a $20.00 gift certificate to Scrapbook Circle will be posted on Monday, May 9th.
Good luck and happy scrapping!
If you can, set up the photo album with Neela’s page, or I can do that when I get back.
