Hello friends!

Today I’ve got a “be real” layout to share with you, created using the April Our Story kit.  In February, my daughter’s first grade celebrated 100 days of school by dressing up as if they were 100 years old.  I thought my little one looked so cute, and of course I took a ton of pics, both on my iPhone and my big camera.  I posted one to Instagram, and I knew I had to document this day.

My daughter is not shy of the camera, lol!  I thought it was extra funny that she was hamming it up for the camera dressed as a grandma.  Love her personality!

When I saw the pink paper with circles by Crate Paper, I thought it would be perfect to embellish the circles.  First, I trimmed down the Crate Paper paper, and adhered it to a Maggie Holmes pattern paper.  I added some machine stitching around the edges.  I got my heart punch out, and started punching hearts from various pattern papers.  A few of the hearts are punched from Shimelle papers from the March Happy Place kit.  (This is a perfect way to use up some scraps!)  I adhered the hearts to the middle circles, careful to put glue only on the middle of the heart so I can flip up the tops of the heart to create depth.  I added stitching to a few of the hearts.  Then I added the photos with foam adhesive.  Next, I added the title and very basic journaling.  (I am loving the Pinkfresh Studio alpha stickers!)  I embellished 3 of the hearts with some Crate Paper heart face stickers (from the January True Love add-on), which is perfect for this layout.  I added some embellishments to the top right and bottom left of my layout; I fussy cut the word washi strips from the Maggie Holmes paper.  I added some stars from the Pinkfresh Studio alpha stickers and some Pinkfresh Studio mirrored heart stickers.

I love how this layout turned out.  It’s super fun and fits my daughter’s personality perfectly.  I hope I inspired you to scrap some photos from your camera roll!  Happy crafting!
