Tech Tip: Fun With Squares
Hello! It’s Claudia here with you and today I’m sharing a quick tip on how to create some fun backgrounds with squares. This is a great way to use up scraps of paper once you get towards the end of your kit or if you feel like you lost your mojo. I personally feel like it’s a lot easier to embellish a layout if there are a lot of patterns/colors in the background.
For the purpose of this tutorial I am using a paper from the 6×6 paper pad that came in this month’s ‘Have Fun’ add on but you can easily use the papers that are included in this month’s kit. The squares I’m using are a little bit over 1″.
The first thing I did was cut up the strips from the 6×6 papers I chose. Even this would make a fun and interesting background but I wanted to show you multiple options so we’re not going to leave it like this.
Now we cut them into individual squares and placed them in a grid position. If you choose to go with single squares, there are also a ton of different looks you can go with – just play with it until you are happy with how it’s looking.
I wanted to make it look even more interesting so I cut some of the squares in half and positioned them on my layout like this;
If you wanted you could cut them all in half and make a layout like that, squares are really fun to play around with and allow you to create a lot of different backgrounds without even having to use a cameo.
I hope you found this quick tip useful and that you will try it out. Here is my final layout;
Thank you so much for joining me, I hope you have a wonderful day.
