80s, Take 2
Today, I’m here with another installment of the take 2 challenge. This month, I was inspired by Allie’s layout that she created last March. I absolutely love the large circle, the scalloped pattern paper strips, and the single photo in her layout.
My husband and I recently went to a 1980s theme party, and we went all out! Don’t we look so glamorous?! Haha! We had a great time, and it was fun getting dressed up. I think 80s fashion is making a comeback; neon colored clothes are everywhere, and I can’t believe I found jelly shoes!
To create my layout, I first cut out a large circle from white cardstock using my silhouette cameo. (You could also hand cut a circle.) Next, I cut up some of the pattern paper into strips. I used some of my border punches on a few of the pattern paper strips, but I hand cut a few scallops from some of the strips as well. I attached the strips to another piece of white cardstock, and added machine stitching. Next I trimmed the cardstock with the large circle and adhered it on top of the cardstock with the pattern paper strips, and added machine stitching. Since I trimmed the circle cardstock, I created a tone on tone frame. Next I added my photo, which I mounted on a piece of ombre pink paper. I embellished my photo with stickers (the blue “Love This” is from an Amy Tangerine paper). To finish my layout, I added my typed journaling and the 80’s title.
I hope you are inspired by both Allie’s and my layout. Happy crafting!
