Telephone Game with Jennifer

Hello Scrapbook Circle friends! For this month’s Telephone Game, I was inspired by the uber-talented Neela Nalam and her lovely layout from December.


Neela is a rock star with large photos, so I knew I wanted to mimic her style as closely as possible. I was instantly drawn to the die-cut snowflakes and decided to focus on those as well.


I began by using my Silhouette Cameo and a stitched snowflake file on a piece of white card stock. My original plan was to stitch the snowflakes and then fussy cut them; however, once I had them done I liked them just the way they were on the card stock.


When editing my picture in Photoshop Elements, I added the text in a large chalkboard font. This creates enough of an impact that I decided to use it as the title for the layout.


Next, I cut several snowflakes using my Silhouette and layered them on, behind, and around the photo. Once in place, I used enamel dots that mimic the colors of the stitched snowflakes to give a few pops of color to the layout.


To complete the project, I backed the white card stock with patterned paper and added journaling around the perimeter (like Neela’s).
