January Challenge: X’s and O’s
Hello, Scrapbook Circle friends! Now that just about everyone has their January kits on hand, let’s wrap up the month with a challenge! Valentine’s Day is coming and love is in the air. Hugs and kisses, or should I say – X’s and O’s – are everywhere in the Love Notes kit. Inspired by those lovey-dovey letters, the challenge is to create a layout that features X’s and O’s. Creative team member Kelly has some fabulous inspiration for you today:
Kelly put the Simple Stories “Sealed with a Kiss” patterned paper to work. She fussy-cut the X’s and O’s from the paper, then layered them on the dictionary page that came in the Love Notes kit.
Because the arrangement of X’s and O’s reminded Kelly of a tic-tac-toe board, she sewed through the X’s. Love wins! Embellishments tucked into the X’s and O’s tie in with the embellishment cluster around her photo. What a pretty page!
Ready to play along with the challenge? Here’s how:
1. Create a layout featuring X’s and O’s. The layout should be traditional or hybrid. This month’s Scrapbook Circle kit is perfect for this challenge, but any materials will do.
2. Post your layout to your blog, an online gallery, or social media site (be sure to tag Scrapbook Circle!). Comment on this post with a direct link to your layout.
3. For an extra entry, post your layout to our Facebook Community, Scrapbook Circle of Friends. Find the photo album titled “January Challenge – X’s and O’s” and add your layout. Feel free to tag me – @Tessa Elzea Buys – so I’m sure not to miss it!
4. Link us to your entry by Sunday, 12th, 9:00 pm PST. The randomly-selected winner of a $20.00 gift certificate to Scrapbook Circle will be posted on February 13th.
Good luck and happy scrapping!
