DT choice layout: sweet Ruby and Emma
I’m back from my little break, with a layout featuring our new baby girl Ruby and our fur baby Emma. I have loved seeing how interested our pup is in her new sister. It is the sweetest thing, and it makes my heart happy!
To create my layout, I used December’s Everyday Stories kit. I used my tried and true grid layout design, since I had multiple photos I wanted to use in my layout. I cut out a few squares from various pieces of pattern paper from the kit. I love how the colors of the papers coordinate so well together, and I absolutely love that Maggie Holmes marbled paper! To create a little more interest, I sewed 2 different papers together in a diagonal. I arranged the papers and photos in a 3×3 grid, and adhered everything down. To create more depth, I adhered a photo and a few of the papers with thin foam adhesive. To embellish my layout, I added a butterfly punched from one of the pattern papers, the word sweet from Jillibean Soup, a mini phrase cut out of the Jillibean Soup pattern paper, enamel hearts from the reset girl, and journaling strips that I printed on my computer. I trimmed the white cardstock, and mounted the entire layout to a Dear Lizzy pattern paper, keeping the branding strip on the bottom. I sewed around the edges and added a few ink splatters to finish my layout.
I know I have mentioned it before, but I am a huge fan of grid layouts. I am detail oriented, and I often take lots of time with my ruler to make sure everything is straight and centered, so this layout makes me happy!
I hope you like my layout and are inspired to get your craft on!
