Be Real layout: You are loved
Hello crafty friends!
Today, I’m back with a “be real” layout using December’s Everyday Stories kit. Lets face it…with iPhones these days, we take lots of photos, especially when you have a brand new baby. However, those photos rarely get printed or even put into a layout. My camera roll is at 1,503 photos. Having a squirmy baby, I take dozens of photos to get the right shot, plus she’s just so cute, I can’t stop! I decided to document this with a screenshot of my camera roll on my iPhone.
To create my layout, I stitched 2 of the Crate Paper pattern papers together. Then, I created a multilayered mat behind my photo using various papers from the kit, and highlighting the gorgeous marbled paper by Maggie Holmes. My title was a happy accident. I had originally planned to have a big hand stitched title, using white thread for a subtle, muted look. I printed out my title on the computer (the font I used was futura), and cut them out intending to trace them onto my paper. However, once I had the letters laid out, I loved the bold look of the font in black. So, I traced the letters on black cardstock, cut them out and glued them onto my layout. I still wanted a little of the hand stitched element, so I added a little bit of black stitching on the letters. To embellish my layout, I added some of the freckled fawn washi labels, enamel shapes from the reset girl, and ink splatters around my photo mat. I also cut a few mini phrases from the Jillibean Soup pattern paper, and added them to my photo. Then, I added a little bit of journaling to finish my layout.
I hope I inspired you to get those photos printed and onto a layout! Have an awesome day!
