Tech Tip: Altering Alphas

Hello there! I’m excited to be sharing another month of projects with you, this time using the Wonderland Kit! Today we’re talking about altering letters. I usually have lots of alphas left over from each month’s kit, and they don’t always match my project. I wanted to mix fonts for my title in this layout, so I brought in an alpha from a previous kit. I altered the letters to make them gold and sparkly. Now they match perfectly!

To create my sparkly letters, all I did was choose a bottle of Stickles! That’s it! You can also do this with another brand of glitter glue, or use liquid glue and loose glitter.

Since my alpha sheet was partially empty, I founded it easiest to leave the letters directly on the plastic. However, if you need more space to work, a piece of wax paper words perfectly. I coated each letter in the word with a generous coating of the Stickles glitter. I made sure every bit of the yellow was covered.

After the letters dry, simple peel them off the plastic. Trim any excess, and your newly altered alphas are ready to go!

It’s a very simple technique, and I know it’s one I forget about often. Altering is a great way to stretch your stash! Thanks for stopping by!
