Happy Thanksgiving Scrapbook Circle friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day full of family, love, and laughter!
Today I am sharing a project created with the exclusive Scrapbook Circle digital cut files included with the November kit, Wonderland.
When I am not scrapbooking, I enjoy making mixed media canvases. This project began as such but turned into something completely different than what I had in mind (Isn’t that how it usually works?).
To begin, I covered a 12×12 blank canvas with white gesso. Doing this prevents other materials from soaking through the canvas with applying different mediums.
Once the gesso was dry, I used Mod Podge to adhere a piece of the Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa to the canvas and then applied a coat on top. This was followed with a piece of white tissue paper and another layer of Mod Podge.
My next step was to use the exclusive Scrapbook Circle November cut file to create trees. To do this I enlarged the cut file and then select two trees to cut, which I then offset to create slightly larger shapes for layering. With the trees cut, I then used Silhouette to cut a circle in the middle of a piece of 12×12 white card stock. This was placed on the canvas using more foam squares than I care to admit.
Now that I had the base for my project complete, I added a piece of pink patterned paper on top of the white and begin placing embellishments. After a while I decided that what I was making was beginning to look like a snow globe, so I went with it.
I used the Crate Paper puff balls to create snow and to add more dimension to the canvas.
To complete the canvas, I created a banner with the second exclusive cut file included with the November kit.
While this is not my usual type of project, I love how it turned out and plan to use it for years to come.
Thank you for stopping by today and don’t forget to visit the Scrapbook Circle of Friends Facebook page for this and other project ideas!
