Hello there!  It’s our last Tuesday of November and we are full of holiday spirit!!  Diana and Claudia share their festive pages using the Washi Tape from Elle’s Studio that is part of the November ‘Wonderland’ kit.  Both designers used the washi in an overlapping block to the right of their photo cluster.

Diana also used patterned paper at the top and bottom of the page for a defining border.  Here are her words:

“For the washi, I made a grid accent.  I actually used the white packing insert from the washi, I cut the top off right underneath the color and it was exactly the size I needed.  I added it right to the right of my picture, I then embellished on top of that.”

Claudia used the same idea, but a little off center.  Her photo is such a nice contrast to the pinks and reds in the tape.  She describes her process below:

“Hello everyone! It’s Claudia here and today I will show you a fun way to use the Elle’s Studio Washi Stickers that are featured in this month’s ‘Wonderland’ kit. I really love washi tape because you can use it in so many different way. For this layout I decided to use the strips to create a background. I mainly used the longer strips of washi with a pattern and tore them up so that they were thinner which allowed me to fill up more space on the layout. I used a white piece of paper to put the strips on and put that on top of my background paper, but if you have some white gesso you can also put that on your background to light it up and put the washi strips on top of it. There’s really no right or wrong way to apply these, I just randomly placed them on top of each other and I love how it turned out. You can also put the washi on top of some cardstock or patterned paper so it’s not see through anymore. I actually used the packaging from the Pretty Little Studio black label stickers to mount a sticker on. I love that the black polka dots show through in a subtle way!”

I love both takes and admit I am ready to move on to Christmas now that Thanksgiving is officially over!  I hope these creations inspire one of your own!  I may use the washi in my planner, or sealing Christmas cards, tags or own a layout!   Endless possibilities…share your take with us on the Scrapbook Circle of Friends FB page.
