October Challenge: Autumn Leaves

Hello, Scrapbook Circle friends! It’s time for another challenge and “The Weekender” October kit has put me in the mood for fall! Inspired by the autumn leaves found throughout the kit, the October challenge is to create a layout featuring leaves.

I recently took a photo of my little girl on the day we bought her first pair of tap shoes. In the background you can see autumn leaves scattered across the ground, so I scattered some leaves across my page:

I love the Oakley Avenue journaling cards in the main kit. The gold foil is gorgeous, and the leaf print on one particular card was just asking to be fussy cut.

To tie the colors in my photo and embellishments together, I used aqua and pink watercolor to paint the leaves. I also used the watercolor on my background patterned paper and another journaling card (the x’s).

Are you ready to play along with the new challenge? Here’s how:

1. Create a layout featuring autumn leaves. The layout should be traditional or hybrid. This month’s Scrapbook Circle kit is perfect for this challenge, but any materials will do.

2. Post your layout to your blog, an online gallery, or social media site (be sure to tag Scrapbook Circle!). Comment on this post with a direct link to your layout.

3. For an extra entry, post your layout to our Facebook Community, Scrapbook Circle of Friends. Find the photo album titled “October Autumn Leaves Challenge” and add your layout. Feel free to tag me – @Tessa Elzea Buys – so I’m sure not to miss it!

4. Link us to your entry by Sunday, November 13th, 9:00 pm PST. The randomly-selected winner of a $20.00 gift certificate to Scrapbook Circle will be posted on November 14th.

Good luck and happy scrapping!
