Telephone Game with Jennifer

The Telephone Game is one of my favorites on the Scrapbook Circle blog. This month I used Kelly’s Happy Moments layout for inspiration to create my project. The papers in the August kit are perfect for my photo, which is a quail’s nest in my tomato plant. My kids thought it was funny that the mama bird was sitting on a tomato that had fallen into the nest as if it were an egg.

I love this layout and was immediately drawn to the grid behind the photo. The stitching is awesome and adds the perfect touch to Kelly’s layout.

Happy Moments 1

To begin my project, I paired the Pink Paislee Outfitters patterned papers with the August printable.

To make the grid, I cut each patterned paper into a square and then cut that diagonally. Next, I adhered them to my background page and followed that with the zigzag stitching through the middle of each.

Once the grid was in place, I backed my photo with more Pink Paislee paper and adhered it to the layout.

My next step was to add the title using the Fancy Pants Life is Beautiful chipboard alpha stickers, Pretty Little Studio vellum tape, and Freckled Fawn puffy stickers. Lastly, I sewed the title down and added a date and sentiment using stamps from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you are inspired to create something fun!
