Technique Tip: Print and cut with silhouette

I use the print and cut technique with silhouette especially to cut out my photos in circles. Here is my layout with the circular photo that cut out with the silhouette:

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Open the file with the photo in silhouette and draw the circle that will be cut out by silhouette.

Step 2: Turn on registration marks. At this point, make sure that your cut lines which show up in red don’t go beyond the boundaries of the registration marks. If they do, the portions outside the boundary will not get cut.

Step 3: Print your file

Step 4: Place your photo on the mat and load it into silhouette.

Step 5: Cut out your image

The registration marks are important for silhouette cameo to get a context of where it needs to correctly cut. After printing out your file, it is best not to mess with the cut lines or your machine will get confused. Hope you will try this out.

In order to mimic the main circle, i punched out circles of different sizes from various papers in the kit and layered them on either side. I finished off the layout with the white rubber stickers, black acrylic words and arrow stickers. I used both the main and add on embellishment kits from August.
