Designer’s Choice – Simple Grids

One of the easiest techniques to make layouts with great results is using simple grids. To begin with just draw out a grid with boxes of different sizes on a practice sheet. See what appeals to you most and pick one. Now translate it to your actual layout. You can have a lot of fun filling in those boxes. Repeat elements across the boxes to tie them all together.   For example, look at my layout below. I have drawn black boxes around the different boxes in the grid to demarcate the areas. I then went in and filled the boxes with the photo, journaling, titles and embellishments.

Here is the layout without the boxes:

I used the august embellishment kits and the august snapshot kit to make this layout. Make sure to check them out in the store.
