Happy Wednesday and Tech. Tip day! I am super excited to be able to introduce our Guest Designer for August, as well as feature her Tech. Tip for today’s post!! I would say more, but am going to let her introduce herself!
Hi there! I’m Heather Adams, a 21 year old recent college graduate. I graduated college with a degree in graphic design, and I already have had the opportunity to design my own scrapbooking products with Pretty Little Studio! It’s so much fun getting to see people make stuff with my designs. I love documenting the little things in life, and I enjoy making just about anything you can create with paper. Layouts, Project Life pages, cards, you name it! Besides scrapbooking, I enjoy traveling, shopping, and photography. When I’m not playing with paper, you will probably find me hanging out with my awesome sister or boyfriend.
Heather describes her process step by step:
When I saw the overall outdoors theme for this month’s kit, I KNEW I had to scrapbook this story. The very first time I went out to visit my boyfriend (he lives about 550 miles from me), he wanted to take me out on a “country boy date.” AKA He wanted to take me out in the woods and cook me a meal over a campfire. It was so perfect, and it’s such a great memory. So that’s what I wanted to document. Here’s how this page came together:
First, I played around with my photos and figured out where I wanted them to go on the page so I could keep their placement in mind when designing my page.
Next, I cut a piece of patterned paper and then made a slanted cut about a third of the way from the side.
Then I flipped over the right piece that I just cut and matched the side with the other strip of paper to make a chevron shape.
I cut some more patterned papers and pieced them together for the chevron design.
After adhering the patterned papers down, I added some machine stitching to the sides of the large chevron design.
I decided I wanted some mist on my page, so I added some of that before glueing the photos and badge down with foam adhesive.
Time for embellishing!
Lastly, I added my typewritten journaling (I love my typewriter!!) and my title.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my process for the making of this page! I have really enjoyed playing with the August Scrapbook Circle kit. Those chipboard letter stickers are definitely a new favorite product of mine!
Thanks so much for stopping by the Blog today! Come back on Fridays to see more of Heather’s projects and learn more about our Guest Designer!
