This week we have Creative Team members Jennifer & Claudia showing us their innovative solutions to the challenge of using the Fancy Pants Chipboard Alphas from the August Kit!  Check it out!

Here is how Claudia described her process and thinking!

“I always like how Thickers look but I always struggle with using them for titles, which is why I try to think of other ways to get a use out of them. For this layout I decided to bring out my craft knife (which I never use) because I wanted to try something different. I used a piece of craft cardstock from my stash for my tracing. You can do a bunch of different shapes with the craft knife but I chose rectangles. At first I thought I would do squares but I figured it would look more interesting if every cut out piece had a different size. After I cut out all the rectangles I went through the kit to find a paper that matched well. I ended up going for the paper with the triangles because it was a nice subtle background. I added a few different papers from the kit behind some of the rectangles to add more interest and a pop of blue.

After that I pulled out the chipboard alphas and started placing them on my layout. I spelled a few words but it’s mostly just random letters and numbers that are jumbled. I found that this is a great way to use up those thickers that you can’t spell words with anymore. I added some foam tape behind my craft paper to mount it on top of my background paper – this also adds some nice dimension.”

Next up is Jennifer!  I adore the was she use the alpha “left overs” to basically make a new embellishment!!

In Jennifer’s words:

“This month I was challenged to use the Fancy Pants chipboard alphas. I love these alphas and they appear on all but one project this month. For this layout, I used the centers of all of the O’s and 0’s to create a starburst-like effect around my die cut. I had enough pieces to make a complete circle but decided to have them coming off of only one side. This is not something I have done on a project before and I like the idea of using ALL of the stickers rather than simply the letters and numbers.”
Fantastic work team!  How do you use your alphas in a different way??  Share it with us on the Scrapbook Circle of Friends Facebook page and while you’re there, check out the next couple weeks of the Alphabet Back-to-School posts!
Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing week!
