1 Product 2 Ways – Hello, Heather Die Cuts

By Jenni Calma

Hi Summer scrappers!

Our 2nd Product featured from the July ‘Today is the Day’ kit, are these script word die-cuts.  They are part of the new ‘Hello Heather’ collection at Pretty Little Studio!  With schedule adjustments for summer vacations, I created a LO along with Claudia, focusing on these bold embellishments.  Below is Claudia’s creation, which is centered around the coolest photograph!

Here is what Claudia had to say:

“Hello everyone! It’s Claudia here with you and today me and Jenni will show you some fun ways on how to use the Hello Heather die cut pack that comes with this month’s kit. I really love the die cut pack because of the variety between scripted words, hearts and the ‘typewriter’ look. I decided to do some sort of a grid design when I used both sides of this beautiful paper from the Life Is Beautiful collection by Fancy Pants. I personally don’t care too much about everything being the exact same size but if you do, then of course you could use a ruler. I thought a lot of the words in the die cut pack kind of described what this photo was about for me so I thought it would be a nice way to kind of use them as ‘storytelling’ pieces and place them on the grids to decorate them at the same time. Of course you could also choose a separate word to create your title, but since so many of the words matched so well with my photo I decided to just use them all up. I used the hearts to add pops of color on the layout.”

Claudia also filmed her process and you can see it below or click HERE to take you to her YouTube channel:

I am really excited to hang with Claudia sharing something for this weekly post.  I wanted to create a simple graphic page with this patterned paper that would make my photo pop! smile_SBC_July 2016 border

I made a start to finish video of my process…click below or HERE to see it!

I started by cutting this large stacked butterfly design on the Elle’s Studio paper with my Silhouette.  I thought this paper would be an eye catching way to include the die-cut words, as the center to each butterfly.  I used an inch of the same patterned paper as a border, on the right side of the background.  I chose a few of the Elle’s Studio wood veneers and painted them matching colors using my gelatos.  I added most of the embellishments using a hot glue gun and added a few color coordinated stickers and die-cuts.  The ‘smile’ puffy sticker from Fancy Pants served as my title!  I am a little crazy about color matching embellishments lately and these vibrant summer colors in the July kit are perfect for my current obsession!
