June Telephone game, kindergarten graduate layout
Hello everyone! It’s my turn at the telephone game challenge, and I’m so excited to share with you my layout. Just like the game, I am taking the layout of the previous month’s telephone game challenge, which you can find here, and making my own layout inspired by the last team member.
Here is last month’s layout by Neela:
…and here is what I created inspired by her layout:
I was inspired by the squares and the grid on Neela’s layout. Her layout is actually one of my go-to sketches when I have a lot of photos, but I wanted to do something a little different this time, so I decided to interpret the squares and grid to the background. I cut up one of the Amy Tan pattern papers from June’s Now or Never kit into squares, and adhered it to my white card stock. I wanted to add more interest and texture, so I used my sewing machine to create a quilted look. Then, I added my mounted photo, and created interest to the photo by embellishing it around the negative space. (The twine is from April’s One Fine Day kit.)
I love how this layout turned out: my photo is the star of the layout, and the embellishments compliment it perfectly. The pattern paper is awesome since our school colors are red & yellow. Also, my little one is a kindergarten grad, and my older will be in 5th grade in the fall…how did that happen?!!!
I hope I’ve inspired you to create, and I can’t wait to see what the next team member makes next month for the telephone game challenge!
Have a wonderful day!
