Be Real: Happy Little Moment
Hello everyone! It’s Claudia here with you and today I have a ‘Be Real’ post for you all. I decided to use this photo of me and my cats because it’s (almost) an everyday moment and there’s nothing I love more than sitting in my pyjamas, watching some tv and have one of my cats be with me. Now, in this photo they are both with me which was actually a rare occasion; I just came back from a vacation to Portugal and it seemed like both of them kind of missed me.
I usually use white cardstock for my backgrounds because that way I can use the patterned paper in other ways, such as layering or just cutting strips off of a paper rather than having to use the whole thing. I also used a branding strip on my layout to add a pop of yellow. My initial idea for the layout was to go with a black, yellow and pink color scheme but in the end I ended up adding pretty much all colors that are in the kit haha. I got my photo printed in black and white because I just find it so much easier to match embellishments that way because you can pretty much use all colors with a black and white photo. I added a few of the cut aparts from Elle’s Studio that came in the main kit to create a bit more interest to the layout and some pops of color.
I used a few stickers from the Amy Tangerine Better Together sticker book which came in one of the add on kits this month, I think they are so perfect for layering! To create my title I used these black alphas from the Webster’s Pages sticker sheet which came in the main kit. I quite like these ones.
I cut out a florals out of that gorgeous paper from the Bella Blvd/Illustrated Faith She Blooms collection and layered it behind my photo. You can also have a good look at my layers in the photo down below. As always I finished off my layout by adding some splatters, I chose to use the gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine from my stash to add those.
Thank you for joining me today! I hope I was able to inspire you in some kind of way and that you enjoyed reading a little bit about my layout.
We’d love to see what you’re creating with the kit(s)! Make sure you join our Facebook group if you haven’t done so already.
