1 Product 2 Ways – Exclusive Wood Veneers
Happy April everyone! Spring is the perfect time for welcoming change! I am excited to be a part of some fresh new changes we are debuting this month. We have several new talented Design Team members as well as new challenges and post topics. I asked veteran Design Team member Diana and newbie Kelly Holbrook to take on one of these challenges. They both used the Exclusive Scrapbook Circle wood veneers that are part of the April kit, ‘One Fine Day.’
Diana created this striking layout about her silly self! She used 4 of the wood veneers in a row as a sort of subtitle to her page. Layering the wood on top of the corrugated paper provides great contrast and really makes them pop.
Although her page is very colorful and full of various patterns, the wood veneers don’t get lost and complement her skin tone perfectly. I love to see scrappers document themselves…I think it is really important to include YOURSELF in your stories!
The second team member to use the wood veneers is one of our new additions, Kelly Holbrook. She has an amazing style that she accentuates with lots of lovely stitching. She decided to use all of the veneers in an block in the middle of her 8-1/2 x 11 page. Using them all together, she created quite an impact. She aligned them in a loose grid with her photo and title.
Layering the wood on the white part of her background provides the same contrast Diana created. Her colors are so subtle, you almost miss the fact that the page is really complex, adding angles and layers with dimension. Not to mention her stitching is just as delightful as her family!
