1 Product 2 Ways – Elle’s Studio Bits & Pieces

Hi there!  Today is the second ‘1 Product 2 Ways’ post for April featuring the Elle’s Studio Bits & Pieces included in the main kit, ‘One Fine Day.’

Our April Guest Designer and new creative team member Claudia van Rooijen took this challenge and came up with two distinct approaches.

This is Missy’s layout and I asked her to include a little bit about the avenue she took.  Here is what she had to say:

“I decided to create a fun banner out of the Elle’s Studio Bits & Pieces.  I arranged the tags and some of the labels how I liked them and adhered them to a piece of scrap cardstock.  I ran it through my sewing machine so the top looked like a stitched banner and then cut the entire piece off the scrap cardstock.  This way I could move the entire banner around my background and decide where I wanted it before adding the pop dots to it.  I love how it turned out, and I think it’s a fun way to use die cuts!”

Claudia’s layout is just as innovative and full of texture as Missy’s, but from a very different approach!

Here is what Claudia had to say about her page and making the most of the tools she has:

“When I first got the assignment, I really had no idea on how I could possibly use it in a creative way.  After a lot of thinking I thought that maybe it would be a nice idea to use the grey heart for tracing and add some hearts to the layout using different patterned papers from the kit.  I don’t have a Silhouette or a die-cut machine so I thought that this was a nice way to kind of incorporate that feel without actually needing to own a machine.  I just used a Sharpie to trace the shape and cut it out with my scissors; easy as can be.  I think it could also be a lot of fun to trace some of the more basic shapes and maybe add a bit of something to kind of create your own embellishments.”

Aren’t you inspired to re-create one of these layouts??  Thank you ladies for two amazing ideas for using the Little Moments pieces!  Share your work, inspired by these projects or not on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page.
