Tech Tip: Stitching titles

Sometimes I want a title in a particular color, but I don’t have any products in that color. In that case, I revert to my other hobby, cross-stitching, for help.

First, I look for a pattern: stickers, stamps, or chipboard from past kits. I trace the letters in pencil onto my page.

Next, I take a paper piercer and poke holes about 1/4″ apart. Then I erase the lines.

Finally, I pick a DMC color that matches the kit. Since I’m a cross-stitcher as well, I have every color. If you’re not, the skeins are pretty cheap! It’s pretty inexpensive to collect what you need.

Tech Tip 2

When I stitch on paper, I use about 3 strands. I use a backstitch to make the title letters. (You can find directions on how to backstitch here.)
