Designer’s Choice: Double Page Layouts

By Jamie Leija

Hiya! I love European Christmas markets. They are such magical places that really just encapsulate the spirit of the season. Last year, I visited the one in Basel, Switzerland. I took so many photos and wanted to get them all into one layout. So I harkened back to (what feels like) the old days of double page layouts.

I included 8 photos on this spread and an enlarged photo of the crown jewel of this particular Christmas market.

I loved how well the Good Cheer kit worked for these photos. And adding just two pieces of blue cardstock to the mix, made it that much more compatible.

I documented this trip via Instagram, so thinking of the page design in squares made it easier to figure out the configuration: a grid!

The embellishing was sprinkled in and around the page. Between the Good Cheer kit and the Count on It add-on, there were just so many great little embellishments to choose from. I love love loved those sheer snowflakes from Heidi Swapp.

And the Pinkfresh die cut pack had these great little slides which were the perfect way to frame out my journaling.

I’m so excited about how this page turned out! I really feel like it captures the colors and the mood of the Christmas market. Love it when a kit and photos match up so well!
