Designer’s Choice: Inspired by Film

It’s Jennifer Larson sharing how I became inspired with the product choices for the following layout:

Awesome Meals by Jennifer Larson

I made this page around the time of the Oscars. I don’t watch all the films, but a student in one of my classes had convinced me to watch Moonrise Kingdom earlier this year, so I made sure to watch Grand Budapest Hotel, written and directed by Wes Anderson. The colors in the film inspired me, and I found myself selecting products that matched the colors in the film: the pinks for the hotel, the blues for the snowy outside, a bit of red for the lobby, and the gold for the hotel opulence. (I didn’t have any purple in the kit to complete the color inspiration!) Overall, I went for a candy-colored page to reflect how happy my son is when I cook these favorite meals.

Wes Anderson is known for his colorful films, but many films are known for their color palettes as well. The next time you are watching a movie, look at it as inspiration for the product selections you make for your pages, and share the pages on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page!
