February Mood Board

Hiya! This month, I was asked to create with the monthly mood board. It was anything but hard. Just look at all of the gorgeous items Diana put together for our inspirational pleasure.

For this layout highlighting my love of the French Quarter, I managed to use, in some way, each of the items in the mood board.1402Feb-FrenchQuarter00

I think it’s easiest to see how I used the Pantone card–in how I printed my photos as well as the pink background paper. And how I printed my journaling strips in just the same way, white text on black strips.

I so lucked out that I took a photo of this awesome rusty sign that reads “French Quarter” and that it reminds me of the “LOVE” sign on the board.1402Feb-FrenchQuarter03

I loved the color of the dress, so I’m glad the stickers in the kit spelled out “L-O-V-E” in the same hue. Also, I thought the tone on tone with those layers was just great. Which is why I cut the large fluer-de-lis background in white. I think it looks so much like the lace in the dress! It’s subtle but full of impact.

The finishing touch was that gold arrow. It adds the sparkle from the shoes and the gold from the ring.

I love how this page came together. And it never would have happened like this, were it not for the mood board! If you’re inspired by it too, please share a photo of your layout in the Facebook group. We’d love to see!

Cheers,
