December Guest Designer — Gail Lindner

For December, we welcome Gail Lindner to the creative team!

Let’s get to know Gail a little better:

I have a wonderful, hard-working husband, a beautiful, energetic daughter, a mischievous, fun-loving toddler boy and this year we welcomed a sweet, content baby (another boy) into our family.

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia and am lucky enough to have the opportunity to be a stay-at-home-mum. I spend my days changing nappies, making sandwiches, doing school drop offs and pick ups and trying to stay on top of the never-ending washing, feeding and tidying that comes with three kids!

But I am, and always have been a creative person. I’ve been scrapbooking for over fourteen years now and I can’t imagine my life without it. I still love it just as much as I did back then as it encompasses everything I love – memories, photos, memorabilia and pretty things!

I’m inspired by my photos and the stories I want to tell. You will rarely find a layout from me without meaningful journaling. I love the idea of my kids (and future grandkids even) reading about my thoughts and experiences through my scrapbooking.

I’ve been involved in the scrapbooking industry for a loooong time, through magazine publications, manufacturer design teams, working at scrapbook stores and running classes and workshops. Currently I’m fortunate to be on the design teams for Pink Paislee and Bazzill Basics.

Here is the first of many great projects you’ll see from Gail. Stunning!

We also asked Gail a few questions for fun. Here are her answers:

If you could spend a day scrapbooking/crafting with anyone (friend, online friend, celebrity, etc) who would it be and why? Well, I’m going to cheat and say that I cannot possibly choose just one! I would love to gather a few of my closest “online” buddies who are scattered all around Australia to get together for a big scrap and chat. Although I think we would do more chatting than scrapping! I miss these girls and wish we could see each other more often!

If you were designing a scrapbook collection, what ONE thing would you make sure was in that line and why? I am all about the story and documenting so I would have to say journaling prompts! Perhaps some prompts to tell stories that you mightn’t have thought of before.

What does a perfect day of scrapbooking look like for you? Is it day or night? Music or quiet? Crop or alone? I mostly scrap at night when the kids are in bed and I usually like to pop on a DVD (one that I’ve seen loads of times so I don’t have to concentrate on it too much) for background noise. To make it absolutely perfect, it would be an all night crop with a few friends, lots of chatting, some yummy chips and dip and I would get to sleep in all the next morning! Haha!

It’s been great getting to know you, Gail. Leave her a comment or two and let’s welcome her!
