November Kit-Inspired Challenge: Polka Dots

As you flip through the patterned papers in the November kit, Little Moments, you’ll notice that many have something in common – polka dots! This basic design staple has been reinvented in cute, trendy, and beautiful ways in these papers. We love the polka dots so much that our new challenge is to feature them in a layout. Whether you use one patterned paper or a several, draw them yourself or use a stencil, we just want to see dots. Need some inspiration? Let’s take a look at creative team member Audrey’s polka dotted layout:

Audrey was drawn to one paper in particular by Basic Grey. She used a wide strip of the paper down the center of her layout, then cut out several of the polka dots to scatter around her layout:

I especially like how Audrey used foam adhesive to pop up the dots. The dimension it gives the page is really fun!

Ready to play along? Here’s how:

1. Create a layout featuring polka dots. We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do.

2. Post your layout to your blog, our Facebook page, or an online gallery. Come back to this post and leave a direct link to your layout in the comments.

3. You have TWO weeks to play. Enter by Wednesday, November 19th, 9 pm Pacific to be eligible to win a $25.00 gift card to The Cut Shoppe!

If you have an electronic die-cut machine, you definitely need to check out the digital files that The Cut Shoppe has to offer. Just think of the magic you could make with your Scrapbook Circle kits and the downloads from The Cut Shoppe! All cut files are available in PNG and SVG formats and are original designs. The Cut Shoppe also now offers Printables in PNG and PDF formats! Just remember, should you win, you will need an electronic die-cut machine to make use of the cut files.

Good luck and happy scrapping!
