Designer’s Choice: On the Edge

Hiya! Let’s get a little edgy today, shall we? This page that I made was all about pushing my page elements as far as they would go. It made for a modern page.

I loved the Kelly Purkey feathers from the Sweetness Add on. They were so inspiring and I knew I wanted to make them the focal point of this page. But the scale was too small so I had to extend them. I used a gray watercolor pencil to sketch them on my background card stock. For a bit more dimension, I stitched down the “spine”.

And then I had fun adding the elements along the edges. A strip of patterned paper at the top and the title die cut off the edge at the bottom. It was the main idea I had when I was sketching out my ideas for this page and I’m so happy it worked out like I thought it would.

I also love that I got to make a “big picture” type page. I love looking at these 4 photos taken over 4 years. I love seeing how we’ve grown up and the progression of time. If you haven’t lately I’d suggest making a page with the same people over a few years. It made me happy today, I’m sure it’d make you happy too!

We’d love to see it over on the Facebook page. That or any Scrapbook Circle page. We like seeing what you create too!

Cheers,
