Creating a Background

Scrapbook Circle kits are my favorite combination of patterned paper. The patterns and colors always work so well together. I love creating a background mixing many of them together to create a quilted look. First I cut out a background with the Silhouette Cameo. Then I cut out inner shapes from many different patterns and start laying them down.rk sc family

For this layout I also stitched around the die cut background with my sewing machine. It took some time getting around the curves, but I love the look so it was well worth it. Once you have an assortment of patterns filled in, it is time for the fun of embellishing! I a grouping of the BasicGrey vellum and transparency feathers was fun to put together.

And I loved inking the Heidi Swapp alphas and die cuts with different colored inks.

If you haven’t grabbed your November Kit (Little Moments) yet, you will want to run and get one before they are sold out.  This month I bought both Ad Ons, Sweetness and Home Sweet Home and I highlighy recommend both for extra journaling and embellishing options!

🙂 Rebecca
