Designer’s Take: Janet’s Artist Palette

Our October guest designer, Janet Perafan-Babar, is joining us for the October Technique Challenge – Artist’s Palette:

Here’s what Janet had to say about her take on the challenge:  “I used mists to create my watercolored background. This is a first for me, and was quite fun to do! Taking inspiration from the Chickaniddy Crafts Autumn Haze paper in the main kit, here is what I did: I poured a few drops of Heidi Swapp Mustard ink mist onto wax paper, dipped my brush into water and dabbed it into the ink puddle. Then, onto white cardstock, I brushed even strokes until I got the effect I wanted. Remember how easy that was back in Kindergarten? After it was dry, I splattered the green mist. Super easy and super fun!”

I can’t agree more! What an easy technique for a fabulous look. Thanks, Janet!

If you haven’t had a chance to play along yet, I hope Janet has inspired you to give it a try. For all the details, see the original challenge post here. You still have two weeks to play and one more Designer Take next Thursday to give you even more inspiration. Have fun getting a little messy!
