Designer’s Choice: Angle Trend

By Jamie Leija

The design world is mad for angles…triangles, chevrons, trapezoids. Everything seems to be angled…and I love it! I love working with basic shapes like circles, squares and lately triangles.

It seems that a lot of us on the team were inspired by angles this month. Diana add a chevron to her page. Valerie was inspired by this month’s mood board (which features some colorful triangles). Monika made a circle with triangles (how clever!) And Gina used a cut file to get a ton of triangles on her layout.

I went way old school with this page and cut my photo into a shape (gasp!). It was kind of the perfect photo to be cut into a triangle, our three heads at the top, all crammed close together. I actually used the Afterlight App to frame this and then just cut away the white background once I printed it out.

There were a lot of great angled items in the kit so I made sure to use as much as I could. I pulled papers from the 6×6 pad from the Right Now Add-on and paired it with the triangle stamps and wood veneer pieces from the Main Kit. I think my favorite is the stamping I did with those triangles. The colors are just fun…and very fall 😀

How are you finding the angle trend? Do you love it? Hate it? It took a really long time for me to figure out how to work with a triangle. But I’m loving their look now.

If you use angles in your next Scrapbook Circle page, we’d love to see it. Post it over on the Facebook group. And if you’re interested in seeing how other subscribers are using the kit, you can visit the page and scroll down to the Post to Page box on the left hand side.

Cheers,
