school pictures. a design team choice.

Today I wanted to share a layout I made using the Here & There kit for the month of September.  Do you have ANY large school pictures of your kids just laying around?  I found this gem underneath some other things in my scrappy stuff–this is my daughter who is currently a Junior in High School crazy how time flies!DianaWLoveAmaze

for this layout I trimmed the 8″ x 10″ photo down just a touch to 7″x 9″ (I wasn’t worried about losing anything in the background.)  I then started building up the background–the seals on the left hand side of the layout is where I started.  With layouts I usually start with an element or idea then build on it.  When you look at the seals they appear that they are a different color that the background card stock, the only difference is that the side that is “up” on the seals are flat, the background is textured.  I really like the look–gives the layout a bit more interest.  After the page was “all together” I decided to outline the picture with a pen–something I haven’t done in a LONG time!  Another easy fun way to add dimension to your layout.

We would LOVE to see your layouts that feature large pictures, tone on tone card stock, outlining, or any other creative elements you have used using our Scrapbook Circle kits.  Please share them on our Facebook page!
