August Mood Board with Jennifer Larson

Hello! It’s Jennifer Larson, here to share this month’s Mood Board and how it inspired me. First, the mood board:

And my page:

How did the board inspire me?

1. The colors–blue, green, and tan–reminded me of our trip to the Mississippi River Headwaters this summer. I picked this photo and enlarged it to scrap my son’s love of water on vacation, plus a few more supporting photos in a smaller size.

2. Next, the swoosh of the fox tail reminded me of waves. I used (mostly) the 6×6 paper pad in the Bungalow add-on, hand-drawing the waves in the back and cutting them out. I also used the aqua piece of Bokeh Teal from the main kit.

3. The circular earrings and brads inspired me to add the chipboard circles (brads) and wood veneer sequins (earrings) along the waves to mimic the splash of the waves on the sand. Both embellishments came from the Tiki-Torch add-on, my favorite this month!

4. The swoopy script in the quotation inspired my choice in font for my title–Voluptate–which I cut with my Silhouette from a black sheet in the 6×6 pad.

And that’s my page, inspired by this month’s Mood Board! Have fun playing around with it and using the kit to create something inspired. When you do, share your layout on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook Page so we can be inspired by you!
