Be Real | Stamping on Plastic Stars

Hello Summer Scrappers!  This is Jenni to share my layout using the July kit ‘Our Adventure’ and  ‘Away We Go’ Add-on.  I used an Instagram photo of my son and godson and also used the July Circle Roundup as inspiration. image The Circle Roundup is a great starting point and the colors worked great with my photo.  I knew I wanted to use the plastic stars from Studio Calico, part of the Add-on, but was afraid they might get lost with the busy patterned papers.  I started looking at the Elle’s Studio overlays and thought I could achieve something similar using StazOn ink on the clear plastic. image I used this stripe roller stamp and really saturated my ink pad with the re-inker before using it. image I used a tiny bit of removable adhesive on the back of the stars to stick them to my craft mat.  It helped keep them in place as I rolled over them and then to my LO until I could stitch them down. image I was experimenting, but was pleased with the results.  I was surprised at just how sticky the ink was.  I had to wash my craft mat and roller with warm water. image The ink took no time to dry and I lined some up some stars under the photo and in some of the circle shapes of my background paper.  The stitching helps draw attention to them as well. image Sometimes looking at other products can inspire you to customize other pieces to fit your projects!  Check out the way the other members of the Design Team used their July kits in the Idea Gallery.  Share your pages with us on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page and show us how you are inspired!  Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing day!
