Mood Board Inspiration – May

Hi everyone, today I am sharing the Mood Board for May and the layout it inspired!  I used a little of everything; the Main kit – High Five, the My Fave Add-on, a Digi Cut file and a few printables.

I have been using pastels on lots of projects lately, but this Mood Board was a refreshing change.  How great is that black and white fabric on the chair? It is such a perfect contrast with the hot neon hues and gold, I thought it would be a great background paper.  I fussy cut around some of this paper from Heidi Swapp to pick up on the circles and the colors in the nail polish.

One of my goals was to make the colors and elements from the Mood Board become the focus, so I printed my photo in black & white.  However, I framed it with lots of color to still make it prominent.  I used the Digi file of these overlapping hearts and misted it to match the other bright citron and yellow colors.  The black & white 6×6 paper from BasicGrey was inspired by the font on the Board.

That same yellow shade is in a couple of the printables that I used.  The date stamp is part of the Scrapbook Circle exclusive stamp in the Main kit.  I brought in a few hearts inspired by the gold ring & added some India ink splatters to really set off the bright colors.

The May kit has lots of feminine patterns and colors, but it also has lots of vivid tones like these.  As usual, Lisa really put together a fantastically, versatile collection!  I hope this inspired you to use your favs from this month’s Mood Board. Share it with us on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page for everyone to see!
