Mixing Up the Grid

I am a known lover of the grid format, but if you use grids a lot you know sometimes you have to mix it up a bit so you don’t get too static or boring. I used the Scrapbook Circle Februaru Kit Hello Today and Add on Right There to make this sort of grid based layout:

rk sc i totally love you

I started with 3 4×6 photos and punched them into 3×4 rectangles with rounded corners. But rather than make the whole layout a grid with 3×4 shapes, I cut out the October Afternoon patterned paper into squares and rounded those corners or cut around the inner shapes. I added some embellishments and stickers to the squares to further break out of the grid.

I also put the title in between the squares and photos. So it is a grid, but not completely linear or symmetrical.

🙂 Rebecca
